I have too much to say!

It feels like so much is happening in early childhood right now. There are new studies coming out every day. There are new organizations working to improve child development and early childhood education. Thanks to COVID, there is a new awareness about the importance of childcare, otherwise know as early childhood education and there is definitely an awareness about the expense of it! I have too much to say about all this, so I needed to start a blog. There is not enough room on social media to say everything I have to say.

This blog will be filled with parent education, the latest data, upcoming research, legislation and tips on child development and early childhood education, and of course concepts of occupational therapy! Join me on this journey. As a pediatric occupational therapist, author, and advocate, I spend every day immersed in the world of early childhood. Between research, policy, and hands-on practice, I see how quickly things are changing and it is hard to keep up!

We need to discuss quick strategies and tips for you to try at home for babies, toddlers and preschoolers and even kindergarteners! We need to talk about the latest data and I will try to translate the jargon into actionable tips and education. We need to talk about policy and advocacy and how legislation affects families every day. We need to talk about some behind the scenes stuff, such as insights from conferences, collaborations and other things I am working on. And last but not least, we need to talk about how this all looks through an OT lense!
